UP 200 Sled Dog Race Planning Continues, Volunteers Needed!

Marquette, MI – February 2, 2022 – The U.P. 200 Sled Dog Championship is back this year with the start of the race coming soon to Downtown Marquette.

Race Start/Finish Coordinator Ross Anthony, with the U.P. Sled Dog Association, spoke about this celebration of dog sledding today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Anthony said there will be some adjustments because of the pandemic, with the pre-race banquet that was supposed to be held Thursday, February 17th not being held. Awards ceremonies for the weekend are also restricted to mushers, handlers and race personnel because of capacity guidelines.

Anthony said that volunteers are still needed for the race events that are happening February 17th through the 20th, 2022.
