Marquette, MI – December 16, 2020 – A $55,000 grant from the Great Lakes Sports Commission to the Ishpeming Ski Club is helping them complete a major improvement project at the iconic Suicide Bowl ski venue.
Rasmussen says the project is part of an overall five-year plan to improve and modernize the Suicide Bowl ski venue.
He adds that the effort will update the chalet with new changing rooms, a meeting room and ski waxing facilities, and adds a Quonset structure for storage and maintenance of grooming equipment.
Rasmussen says the goal is to develop Suicide Bowl into a regional ski jumping and Nordic combined training facility that will attract local and international athletes.
