Ironwood, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A western U.P. man has been found not guilty in an animal cruelty case.
The jury in the trial of 35-year-old Jason Roberts of Ironwood handed the verdict down yesterday in Gogebic County Circuit Court after about two hours of deliberation.
He had been accused of allowing dogs to maul a wounded coyote in 2014.
The charges came after a video showing three hunting dogs attacking and killing a wounded coyote was posted online.
Roberts was found not guilty on one felony and two misdemeanor counts.
