Negaunee, MI  –  Today, groups made their way down Negaunee’s streets as the Pioneer Days Parade took place. There was a great turn out as each faction sported their organization in the streets. Though I have never attended Pioneer Days in the past, the parade atmosphere always dredges up memories from similar events.

I stopped in different places along the parade route to photograph the scene. Like most parades, candy lined the streets as viewers watched the precession. Kids ran beside the parade and waved from the crowd. The flags blew in the breeze as the sun beat down on us all. Floats full of beauty pageants girls and class reunions mixed with local companies to promote Negaunee’s thirty-sixth consecutive year running Pioneer Days.

The cost of this celebration is quite high and the Negaunee Irontown Association could always use more support to make Pioneer Days as amazing as it has been for the last thirty-six years. If you would like to donate to the Pioneer Days or the Fireworks on Teal Lake for the year to come, check out any of the following information!

Donations are accepted via PayPal at NegauneeIrontown.com
