Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees has approved a 3.2 percent tuition increase for the upcoming academic year.
University officials say the increase factored in enrollment projections, increased utility expenses, contract obligations and other inflationary costs.
The increase makes the annual cost for full-time resident undergraduates at the Marquette school will be $9,680.
The rate is in line with tuition caps in the state higher education budget signed by the governor.
In other action at today’s meeting, the board approved the recently negotiated five-year agreement between the university and the NMU Chapter of American Association of University Professors which will run through June 30, 2020.
