Manistique Woman Arraigned For Head-On Crash

    Manistique, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The driver in a head-on crash in Manistique on Monday afternoon has been arraigned.

    32-year-old Theresa Gorney of Manistique was arraigned in 93rd District Court on one count of operating with a suspended, revoked, or denied license causing serious injury.

    Authorities say she was the driver of an eastbound pickup truck that crossed the center line on M-94 near the Siphon Bridge and struck an oncoming vehicle occupied by two Illinois residents.

    She is lodged the Schoolcraft County Jail on a $250,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing on June 29th.

    If convicted, Gorney faces up to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.

    The case is under review by the county prosecutor and more charges may be forthcoming.
