Negaunee, MIJune 13, 2020 – Negaunee High School did on Saturday what many schools nationwide have not been able to: hold an in-person graduation ceremony for their outgoing seniors.  Held at Miners Stadium in Negaunee, the event followed social distancing guidelines and allowed the seniors to be honored for their hard work over the past four years.  The entire graduation was broadcast live on Sunny 101.9 for those who could not attend.

Mark Evans was your host for the broadcast, bringing you into and taking you out of the festivities.  The actual ceremony was broadcast uninterrupted, including the speeches from Class President Leo Helppi, Salutatorian Wesley Johnson, and Valedictorian Madison Downey.  Principal Andrew Brunette gave his address, then the names of the graduates were read, who then ascended the podium to receive their diploma, a fairly rare event in recent times.  It was a truly unique event, and one that everyone can agree was very memorable.
