Man Arrested For Crashing Vehicle On Snowmobile Trail

    Lake Linden, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Calumet Post say one man was arrested for drunk driving after crashing his vehicle on a snowmobile trail early this morning.

    Troopers say the incident began when they attempted to stop a vehicle in Lake Linden around 1:15am for careless driving.

    The driver, a 28-year-old unidentified man, drove off down a nearby snowmobile trail at speeds reaching 60 miles an hour, but crashed his vehicle.

    The driver then fled the scene on foot.

    State Police using their canine unit were able to capture the suspect and take him to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital for treatment of injuries.

    He was later taken to the Houghton County Jail on charges of Operating while Under the Influence and Fleeing and Eluding.

    The man’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.
