Marquette, MISeptember 9, 2019 – Marquette’s Mattson Lower Harbor Park was the site for the fifth annual Veterans Appreciation Fishing Day on Sunday, an event held in honor of the men and women that have served our nation in the armed forces.  Sponsored by the South Shore Fishing Association, the event included fishing for veterans in the morning followed by a boat parade in the Lower Harbor in the afternoon.  Luke Noordyk told you all about the festivities live on the air.

The boat parade, to which everyone was invited, included around 60 boats, and there were over a hundred veterans that participated in the event.  After the parade, the veterans were treated to a pig roast at the Presque Isle pavilion.  Everybody enjoyed the day, and the event is sure to be back for its sixth edition next year.
