Marquette, MI  –  May 16, 2018  –  This afternoon Sunny.FM’s Mike Plourde, Sales Rep. Bruce Whitehead and I stopped in at Iron Bay Restaurant and Drinkery to get ourselves pumped up for the incredible week Iron Bay has in store for everyone.

Iron Bay Restaurant and Drinkery is celebrating their 1 Year Anniversary since opening in Marquette last spring. Located right off the lake, we sat outside today and enjoyed the warm breeze and the great food! We kicked things off with a unique Iron Bay Favorite, the Whitefish Tater Tots. Crusted in grated potato, these crunch whitefish bites with a remoulade sauce pair perfectly with one of the many local craft beers the restaurant has on tap – my suggestion, KBC’s Widow Marker. We also ordered the Iron Worker’s Beer Cheese Spread, a mix of cream cheese, cheddar cheese, horseradish, and seasoning that comes with soft warm pretzel bites for the perfect light snack.

Mike and I were still feeling a bit peckish so we split the Amigos Classic “Awesome” Wet Burrito. The monster burrito was more than enough to split between us, plus I got a chance to hear about the history of the dish. Formerly a item served at Amigos Restaurant, an eatery once run by Iron Bay’s owner, this dish has almost as much history as the restaurant itself!

The restaurant is located at Washington and Lakeshore right off the lake.

We wrapped things up with a piece of their Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. Topped with a thick piece of chocolate and a creamy peanut butter filling, you will have to come in to try this delicious dessert next week during the 1 Year Anniversary Celebration!

Next week the restaurant has many activities planned out for visitors including beer and wine tastings, a showing of the Upper Peninsula classic, “Anatomy of a Murder”, and a scavenger hunt!

Join the Sunny.FM team on Monday as we broadcast live from the restaurant to kick off the week long festivities. Monday evening features live music from Kurt & Kill from 6-9pm in the Restaurant while Luke Ogea and John Davey jam out in the Tap Room.
