Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission is scheduled to vote on a proposed land use plan for the Marquette Lighthouse property at their regular meeting tonight.

Marquette City Manager Mike Angeli joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to preview the agenda for the meeting.

Angeli said the proposal includes plans for the historic lighthouse on Lake Superior and surrounding properties to be developed for public use as a city park.

He also talked about the Commission voting on revisions to the agreement with the Michigan D-E-Q concerning Lake Superior bottomlands under the abandoned ore dock downtown.

Angeli said the revisions in the agreement with the state will allow for plans for the possible re-use of the ore dock structure to be developed in the future.

The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at Marquette City Hall on Baraga Avenue.
