Hiawatha Yoopers Pond Hockey Classic Location Changes Due to Hazardous Ice Conditions

    First Annual Hiawatha Pond Hockey Classic on Town Lake at the White Fawn Lodge

    Update: Due to hazardous ice conditions on the lake, the tournament has been moved to Alger Centennial Ice Arena in downtown Munising from 2-5pm. The party will still be at White Fawn Lodge.

    Marquette, MI – January 18th, 2018 – The Hiawatha Yoopers Pond Hockey Classic is the first annual hockey game tournament hosted at the White Fawn Lodge on Town Lake in Wetmore, MI. The event is open to all, especially active military, veterans, police, firefighters, and first responders.

    The official game time is 1:00 pm Eastern on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Festivities will begin around 11:00 am, and continue long after the hockey games in the Rec Center at the White Fawn Lodge. Each pond hockey game will consist of three (ten minute) periods with a two minute “beer break” intermission between periods.

    The event organizers also welcome any monetary donations, which will benefit the local outpatient VA hospital in Marquette to help improve patient outcomes. Lodging is available in Munising and there is plenty of room for campers to park onsite.
