Learn About Skijoring This Week In Marquette County

    Skijoring through the trails in Marquette County.

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – There are a pair of great opportunities to learn about the dog-powered sport of skijoring this week in Marquette County.

    Brent Skaw, President of the Noquemanon Skijor Club, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to invite all out to learn more about this unique sport.

    Skaw said there is a special screening of the film, “Dog Power”, tonight at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette at 7:00 p.m.

    He said the film takes a look at many canine powered sports, including canicross, bike & scooterjoring, skijoring, cart and sprint and middle distance sled dog racing.

    Skaw said there is also a dry land demo of skijoring planned for this Sunday to learn about skijoring without the skis and will feature information on the sport of skijoring, canicross, dogs and gear demo.

    The event is from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the head end of the Forestville Trail Head in Marquette, and all are welcome.
