Ishpeming Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious incident last night at the Aspen Ridge Elementary School in Ishpeming Township.
They were called to the school around 7:40 p.m. by school staff when custodians found a note in a classroom computer lab that read “RIP, those who died in this bombing”.
School staff initiated a lockdown and called authorities.
The note was determined to be part of a group video project about the Boston Marathon bombing and trial, and following a precautionary sweep of the building, the lockdown was lifted around 9:30 p.m.
No students were at the school at the time of the incident.
