Marquette West Rotary’s HarborFest is finally here!!

    Marquette, MIAugust 18, 2017 – You’re never too old to party. HarborFest is a FREE two-day music festival held at Mattson Lower Harbor in Marquette, put on by Marquette West Rotary. August 25th and 26th is going to mark the start of an atmosphere for partying!

    Wine and beer tents specializing in craft beers will be available for your convenience.  Food tents, kids inflatable activities, a classic car & motorcycle show, antique canoes to view, a luge demonstration track to try, tentative tours of a 110 ft Coast Guard vessel and the culmination of a fishing tournament with live dock side catch and release. HarborFest is going to be the festival that will end your summer with a bang!

    HarborFest will have live music for you to enjoy. A mixture of local artists and acts straight from Chicago will be trucking their instruments down to Lower Harbor. Whether you’re into country, folk, or blues it will all be there with a heavy emphasize on rock. Each night will end with a HOT headliner band to make sure you don’t want to go home, but unfortunately, you have to so we can get ready for another fantastic day on Saturday!

    Enjoy music at HarborFest! Kashmir and Bumpus will be performing.

    The night’s entertainment will begin at 4:45-6:15 pm and will showcase Jerry and Alisson Brown with a modern acoustic country. We will then welcome Good to Go? to the stage at 6:45-8:15 pm with their Trapfolk and Jamfolk style band. After the local bands have left the stage, you will have 45 minutes to grab a snack and some beer before the hot headliner band Bumpus takes over the stage from 9-11 pm. Bumpus will bring funky deep beats, deep bass, lush JB horns, and a heavy organ sound that results in a high-octane musical funk frenzy. After Bumpus leaves the stage, boogie back to your car and get good nights sleep, so you are ready for Saturday!

    Saturday will start off with Sahl Metivier from 12:30-2:00 pm performing solo with his guitar and singing songs from a variety of genres. The Pit Crew will then take the stage playing acoustic bass, vocals, and cello from 2:30-4:00 pm. A progressive funk fusion grove jelly will be performed by Lumi from 4:30-6:00 pm. Trailer Hitch will then take over part of the evening with their hard country music from 6:30-7:45 pm. Get ready to walk a stairway to heaven from 8:30-11 pm Kashmir, the #1 Led  Zeppelin tribute band, coming straight out of Chicago, will be ready to impress you!  The accuracy that Kashmir has with the hit band Led Zeppelin is what makes them a must see. Enjoy a craft beer and some classic rock.

    Marquette West Rotary’s HarborFest will also be full of activities. Saturday, the 26th, before HarborFest begins, we will start a fishing tournament at 6 am. This will be a catch and release tournament with weigh in and awards happening at 2:30 pm down at Lower Harbor.

    Over 100-year-old boats and canoes provided by the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association will be on display to give you a little piece of our areas American heritage.

    Double Trouble Entertainment will be there with their giant inflatables to keep the kids occupied. They will also be having a corn hole tournament. Tickets are $30 a team which will include at least two games and two beers for people 21 of age or older. There will cash prizes for the 1st and 2nd place teams with a general prize for the 3rd place winner.

    A classic car and motorcycle show will be held with over 100 classic cars on Saturday, August 26th, from 11-4:00 pm.

    The Upper Peninsula Luge Club will be down at Lower Harbor Saturday, the 26th, to offer a unique experience. A demonstration luge slide to try out will be available. If you are interested in becoming part of the Luge Club, there will be an informational table for you to learn more about the club.

    The Marquette Maritime Museum will be sponsoring a tour of a 110ft Coast Guard Cutter that will be docked in the harbor Friday and Saturday (pending any emergency missions.)

    HarborFest is a completely FREE event so come on down and be ready for a great time!
