Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow has introduced legislation to ensure students who work hard to get into college can enroll regardless of their financial circumstances.
Stabenow called in to the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to discuss the measure with News Director Walt Lindala.
Stabenow explained that the Early Pell Promise Act will dedicate two years of Pell Grants to qualifying middle school students which will be available upon graduation to help pay for tuition at a college or university.
The measure is modeled after the successful Kalamazoo Promise and is intended to give students and their families the opportunity and information they need to earn a college degree.
