Marquette County Head On Crash Kills One

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Negaunee Post say one person was killed in a head-on traffic accident on US-41 South at Hillcrest Trail last night in Chocolay Township.

    The accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. when a southbound Toyota Camry, driven by 25-year-old Duncan Ryan-Ross of Skandia, went off of the right side of the road, over-corrected, came back on the roadway, crossed the center line and struck a northbound Chevy Silverado pickup head-on.

    Ryan-Ross had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to UP Health System Marquette where he was pronounced dead.

    The driver of the pickup, 24-year-old Megan Niemi of Marquette, was hospitalized for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
