Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Heavy and wet snow moving from western to north central Upper Michigan overnight caused travel problems around the region this morning.

The National Weather Service in Negaunee Township says snowfall rates of one to two inches per hour were reported early this morning across central Upper Michigan.

This produced accumulations of up to 6 to 8 inches in just a few hours.

The snow and freezing conditions made travel quite hazardous through the morning and several traffic accidents were reported on area roadways.
