Iron Mountain Man Arrested After Police Chase

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Iron Mountain Police arrested a man after a high-speed chase and brief standoff early Saturday.

    According to reports, officers responded to a possible domestic assault call at an apartment on the 400 block of Fairbanks Street.

    Officers arriving on the scene witnessed a vehicle leaving the area and a chase began on Carpenter Avenue heading south into Kingsford.

    Police say the vehicle stopped on East Breen Avenue and a 22-year-old man ran from the vehicle into a nearby home.

    He then barricaded himself in a bedroom and threatened to kill himself with a knife. Authorities took the man into custody a short time later with self-inflicted knife wounds on his neck.

    He was treated and lodged in the Dickinson County Correctional Center. Charges are pending and the man’s name is being withheld.
