Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Firefighters were called out to a structure fire early yesterday.
The fire was reported just after 7:00 a.m. at 235 West Bluff Street.
Crews arriving on the scene found a mattress burning out on the sidewalk.
The mattress had been brought outside from a second floor bedroom by a resident who sustained some burns.
That person, whose name has not been released, was treated at the scene and then taken to UP Health System-Marquette for further treatment.
Firefighters say the building had minor damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
