Marquette Schools Receive $55K Grant

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Area Public Schools are one of 56 public school districts to share in $4 million in funding to support safety initiatives.

    The money from the Competitive School Safety Grant Program will be used to purchase equipment and technology to improve the safety and security of school buildings, students and staff.

    Under the program, the Marquette Area Public Schools will receive just over $55,000.

    Other U.P. districts on the list include the L’Anse Area Schools, Ewen-Trout Creek Schools and the Pickford Public Schools.

    Grant recipients have until September 15th to spend their awards.
