Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Gwinn Area Community Schools Board of Education is holding a special meeting tonight to interview a candidate for the post of superintendent.

The meeting is being held in light of the recent board vote to not continue the contract of superintendent Dru Milliron.

Milliron was hired to the post last July.

He came to Gwinn from the downstate Posen school system.

Reports say some school board members felt he was not the right fit for the district and are currently looking for a replacement.

The board will be interviewing Tom Jayne, the current superintendent of Iron Mountain Public Schools, at the meeting tonight.

The session will be held at the Gwinn High School Library at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
