Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – The 32nd Annual Pigs N’ Heat Charity Hockey Game was a blast last night at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
Our Great Lakes Radio crew was on hand to help out with announcements and game break music and we saw a fun night of hockey.
The game was won by the Pigs by a final of 9 to 4.
The teams, made up of members of Marquette County’s law enforcement and firefighting communities, fought hard in the first period to a 4-all tie, but early in the second period, the Pigs put the hammer down and never looked back.
The Heat put up a great fight and had a fantastic goalie in the net that kept the score from getting completely out of hand.
More importantly, though, the large crowd opened up their wallets and helped raise a lot of cash for the Marquette County Pigs N’ Heat Fire Relief Fund.
Organizers said final numbers would be tallied up in a few days, but early estimates looked like about $15,000 was raised at last night’s match up.
Congratulations to all of the players on both squads and all of the volunteers who came together once again for another successful Pigs N’ Heat Charity Hockey Game!
