Marquette, MI – December 8, 2016 – Tonight we had Bill and Joe from Great Lakes Radio out in Christmas tonight for the First Annual Kewadin Casino Tree Lighting Ceremony! The guys were broadcasting live from this Christmas Casino to share what was going on this evening. The tree lighting ceremony was open to all ages and we had a great turn out with tons of families attending the event.
The local fire department came out to save the day with a ladder to put the star on the Christmas tree. The wind was so strong they had the take down the heated tent and move inside.
Everyone gathered around the tree to count down the moments until the tree would be lit. Gasps came from the crowd after seeing the lights flicker to life on the three. With this being the Casino’s first ever tree lighting ceremony, they wanted something big to reveal! The tree they picked rivals the size of the State Capitol building’s tree down in Lansing!
After the tree lighting ceremony everyone moved inside the Casino for refreshments and and some good holiday fun. The Kewadin staff had Free hot cocoa and cider prepared for visitors with venison chili on the menu for a nice warm meal! It was a great event to kick off the holiday season.
