    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Area Public Schools are moving through the month of March with several programs and activities on the docket.

    MAPS Superintendent William Saunders joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today as part of the ongoing Tuesday Superintendent Series to give an update.

    Saunders said the district has a series of activities underway for March as Reading & Writing Month to make reading fun for students.

    He also reminded families of the schedule for parent-teacher conferences and that it’s time for kindergarten registration in the district.

    He also talked about a new program starting up soon in conjunction with the City of Marquette and their Fire Department that will train and certify interested students on becoming a firefighter.
