Drunk Driver In State Police Collision Arraigned

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The drunk driver who struck a parked Michigan State Police car late Friday night has been arraigned.

    38-year-old Carol Saari of Ishpeming was arraigned today in Marquette County District Court.

    The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday on M-28 near Kawbawgam Road in Marquette County’s Chocolay Township when a vehicle side-swiped a State Police car as it was parked along the roadway during a traffic stop.

    A trooper sitting inside the police car when the accident occurred and was not injured.

    Saari is charged with one count of operating while intoxicated, and one count of failure to use due care when approaching a stationary emergency vehicle.

    She faces a pretrial hearing on March 26th.
