Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission has set a date for a public hearing concerning redevelopment of a long-abandoned building in south Marquette.
Home Renewal Systems LLC of downstate Farmington Hills has plans to renovate the 75,000 square foot former Holy Family Orphanage on Altamont Street into 55 affordable housing apartments.
At their regular meeting last night, commissioners scheduled the hearing for their next meeting on Monday, March 30th.
The total cost of the renovation is projected at $15 million with $12.6 million coming from low income housing credits and $2.2 million in historic tax credits.
