NICE Community Schools Set To Unveil New Theater Space And More

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The NICE Community School District is finishing some major renovations to the Westwood High School performance venue.

    District Superintendent Bryan DeAugustine joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today for the latest installment of the “Tuesday Superintendent Series”.

    DeAugustine said the final touches are being put on the renovations to the former Westwood High School Auditorium.

    He said a $1.5 million renovation has been done to the space and it will now be known as the “Patriot Performing Arts Theater”.

    It is expected to be formally dedicated with a Grand Opening some time next week.

    DeAugustine also talked about several other projects that are underway in the district, including the production of a video that showcases some of the programs in the NICE Community Schools.

    He also talked about the recent success of a collaborative program with Northern Michigan University and a possible expansion to some of the facilities in the district due to an increase in enrollment.
