Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Marquette man convicted on felony charges has been sentenced to prison for firearm possession.

37-year-old Joseph Glenn Etheridge was sentenced in Federal Court in Marquette yesterday to 6 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

Etheridge plead guilty last November to an indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The charge came from an investigation into the firing of a shotgun in Skandia in February of 2014.

Etheridge had been seen with a shotgun earlier in the day and was found hiding in a nearby residence he had broken into after firing the shotgun.

Etheridge had previously been convicted of two felony home invasion charges in Detroit.
