Minnesota Man Injured In U.P. Snowmobile Accident

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police from the Calumet Post are reporting an early-morning snowmobile accident that injured one person.

    Troopers say the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. today on Trail #3 in Houghton County’s Schoolcraft Township.

    Reports say a 49-year-old man from Andover, Minnesota missed a turn, lost control of his machiine and crashed into some trees.

    The man was taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and later airlifted to a Minnesota hospital for further treatment.

    No name has been released and the investigation is continuing. Alcohol and excessive speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
