Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The driver arrested following a brief high-speed chase Wednesday night in Skandia has been arraigned.

State Police from the Negaunee Post attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on US-41 near M-94 and when the driver refused to stop, they began a chase.

The officer ended the chase when the suspect vehicle turned onto a road that was too snow covered and slippery to continue.

State Police identified the suspect as 44-year-old Craig John Silta of Trenary and later found him inside the vehicle.

Silta was charged with both resisting arrest and fourth-degree fleeing and eluding of police and is currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail.
