Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan State Police say the Mackinac Bridge has been reopened to traffic after being shut down earlier today due to a multi-vehicle accident and blowing snow conditions.

Reports say the accident involved eight vehicles and happened around 9:30 a.m. near the toll booths on the bridge’s north side.

No word on any injuries and no further details have been released.

High winds gusting up to 50 mph at the Straits of Mackinac were creating areas of bad visibility for motorists at the time of the crash.
