Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission is working on finding a location for a new municipal service center.

At their regular meeting last night, commissioners voted to open negotiations on bids for a series of properties to construct a new center.

The new location for a service center is needed as the site of the current service center on Baraga Avenue has been selected by Duke LifePoint to build a new hospital.

The commission is considering several potential properties, including the Marquette Armory and various properties owned by Northern Michigan University.
