Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the Luce County Sheriff’s Department are reporting the arrest of three people in a drug bust in Newberry.
Sheriff’s Deputies and UPSET detectives were joined by Michigan State Police in executing search warrants at three residences yesterday.
Three people, a 43-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman, are facing a total of 18 counts relating to the sale of heroin, morphine, and ritalin, maintaining of a drug house and the delivery of drugs on or within 1,000 feet of school property.
Reports say three children at one of the residences were removed and turned over to Luce County Child Protective Services.
Names are being withheld pending arraignment in 92nd District Court.
The suspects are each being held in the Luce County Jail on $50,000 bond apiece.
