Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Delta County Airport officials say flights are back on at the facility.

The FAA Airport Weather Observation System was diagnosed and repaired as of 11:00 a.m. today.

Afternoon flights are on time and service has been fully restored.

The problem was found to be an antenna that had moved out of position over time that created communication problems with the main equipment.

FAA Maintenance and Delta County Airport staff are moving the antenna back into position.

The administration says they are looking into establishing a group of weather observers as a back-up in case of similar problems in the future.
