Area H.S. Students Can Get Free Technical Degrees

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Service Agency is teaming up with several partners to give students in Marquette and Alger Counties an opportunity to learn about technical skills.

    MARESA has joined with the State of Michigan, Northern Michigan University, local school districts and the Eagle Mine to create the Technical Middle College program.

    The program will give area students the chance to earn a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree for no charge to the student.

    Students participating in the program must commit to a five-year program of study in either a Career and Technical Education or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics career pathway.

    The program offers students the opportunity to pursue an associate degree in a total of six career areas.
