Funeral Services Set For NMU Provost

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Funeral services have been set for a well known member of the Northern Michigan University community who passed away last week.

    65-year-old Paul Lang died on Friday evening following a brief illness. He most recently served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at NMU.

    Lang was initially hired in 1997 as a tenured professor and head of the Criminal Justice department.

    He also served as Dean of the College of Professional Studies and was appointed interim Provost and Vice President in 2011.

    He was named fully to the post one year later.

    A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette at 2:00 pm Thursday.

    A reception will follow in the Peter White Lounge at Northern Michigan University.
