Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – City of Ishpeming Public Works Department is reminding city residents and business owners to keep heat around their plumbing.

As the extreme cold temperatures continue, cases of frozen pipes are increasing.

The majority of them are related to lack of heat, specifically in basements.

Property owners are responsible for the entire water line from the curb to the house and all inside plumbing.

The city says cold temperatures are not at levels experienced last year, and “let run” orders will not be occurring at the same rate as the winter has been generally warmer to date.
