Ishpeming Hospital Implements Visit Restrictions

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Officials at UP Health System-Bell have implemented restrictions at the hospital in response to illness in the area.

    Due to an increasing number people experiencing flu symptoms or flu-like illness visiting restrictions have been put in place until further notice.

    The following guidelines should be followed:

    Essential visitors only, children under the age of 14 are not permitted to visit. If you are ill with cough, fever, sore throat or any other flu-like symptoms, do not visit patients.

    People are being encouraged to avoid contact with anyone who may be ill, to wash hands frequently or use alcohol hand gel and to stay home if they are sick to help prevent the spread of the flu.

    Previously announced visitor restrictions at UP Health System-Marquette also remain in effect.
