LSSU Releases Annual Banished Word List

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The 40th annual List of Words to be Banished from the Queen’s English for Misuse, Overuse and Uselessness has been released by Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie.

    Words on this year’s list include “bae,” a slang term of endearment, along with ”skill set,” “curated,” “takeaway” and “polar vortex.”

    The list is gathered from nominations received mostly through the university’s website during the past year.
