Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Five of the 17 people arrested in Baraga County in a major drug bust have been arraigned in Federal Court.
Teri Lynn Decota, James Frederick Shelifoe, Barbara Ann Loonsfoot, Cindy Lou Knapp and Clifford Keith Durant, Jr. were all arraigned on five separate federal indictments yesterday.
The remaining suspects were arrested on state warrants will be arraigned on January 6th.
The arrests came after a yearlong joint investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, the FBI’s U.P. Safe Trails Task Force and an agent from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
The federal, state and tribal warrants include 48 counts related to the sale and distribution of narcotics in Baraga County.
The investigation is continuing.
