Sheriff Looks For Public’s Help In Traffic Crash

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help from the public as they investigate a two-vehicle crash in Marquette Township that injured two people Saturday.

    Deputies say the accident happened at 3:10 p.m. when an SUV, driven by 62-year-old Sherry Wolak of Crystal Falls, pulled out onto US-41 from an access road near Northwoods Road into the path of a westbound pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Leah Arvon of Ishpeming.

    Wolak was headed to the eastbound lanes of US-41 when she drove into the path of the pickup.

    The pickup struck the SUV on the driver’s side and Wolak and a passenger, 41-year-old Dawn Thoreson of Amasa, were hospitalized.

    At last report, Wolak was in critical condition, Thoreson was treated and released. Arvon was not injured in the crash.
