MEDC Grant Awarded To Marquette Theater Re-do

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State economic development officials presented a grant to Marquette city officials today to assist with the renovation of a downtown theater.

    Representatives of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation presented a $481,000 check for assistance in the redevelopment of the Delft Theater.

    The grant agreement was approved by the City Commission in November includes interior and exterior building rehabilitation for the development of a dinner theater style restaurant.

    Developers say the $1.8 million dollar project, which is expected to create a minimum of 25 new jobs, involves the redevelopment of the theater building, including the Marquee, which is considered a downtown Marquette landmark.
