Dianda Calls For Michigan Forest Product Support

110th District State Representative Scott Dianda

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 110th District State Representative Scott Dianda has introduced a resolution calling on the governor to give equal weight to several commonly used forestry certification standards in constructing and renovating state-owned buildings.

The resolution encourages the use of wood products in contractors’ efforts to win green building certification.

Dianda says the forest products industry is a $14 billion business in the state which employs thousands of people and the governor needs to get on board with making sure there is a place for all of these products in the state’s building standards.

The Calumet Democrat says the resolution was co-sponsored by fellow representatives John Kivela of Marquette, Ed McBroom of Vulcan, and Frank Foster of Petoskey.
