Marquette Township Ready For The Holidays And The New Year

    MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette Township is hosting their Annual Christmas Tree Lighting tonight with activities starting off at 6:00 p.m.

    Marquette Township Manager Randy Girard and Township Supervisor Dennis Liimatta joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to preview the evening’s activities and talk about other developments in the township.

    Girard said the Marquette Redmen Chorale will provide special music to kick off the evening in front of the Westwood Mall in Marquette Township and Santa will arrive via fire truck to light the tree.

    Liimatta said the 30-foot tree has been donated by a township resident and takes the event to a new level.

    Girard and Liimatta also talked about developments at Lion’s Field and other improvements in Marquette Township that are improving the sense of place for residents.
