Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 110th District State Representative Scott Dianda and state Senator Tom Casperson say they are in support of a proposed community art park in Ironwood.
The city of Ironwood, the Downtown Ironwood Development Authority, Downtown Art Place and the Ironwood Theater have developed a plan for the Art Park.
The park will be located on city-owned property and has been supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation with a match of the city of Ironwood’s $10,000 goal for this project.
The Art Park will provide a public space to display art, hold performances and classes and promote arts and culture within the City.
Dianda and Caspeson say the park is part of a comprehensive effort to revitalize Ironwood’s downtown and enrich the community for families and businesses.
