Marquette Police Holding Meeting On Truck Ordinance

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police are holding an informational meeting tomorrow afternoon to discuss a new ordinance concerning truck traffic on certain streets in the city.

    The Marquette City Commission has amended the current ordinance that will ban trucks of 10,000 pounds or more from streets of Marquette unless they have deliveries or are providing services in that specific area.

    The streets include Genesee, Division, Grove, Third, Fourth, and Seventh, Lincoln and Presque Isle Avenues, and Lakeshore Boulevard from US-41 to Hawley Street.

    The meeting will be at the Marquette Police Department tomorrow at 3:00p.m.

    The new ordinance will go into effect on Thursday.
