Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A change is coming in the state for folks interested in having direct access to physical therapy.
Kip Hartman, Director of Rehab at ACTIVE Physical Therapy, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about legislative changes going into effect in Michigan after the first of the year that will allow for direct access to physical therapy.
Hartman explained that physical therapy is currently not available to patients who are not referred for the treatment by a physician.
After January 1st, patients in Michigan will be able to access physical therapy without a doctor’s referral.
Hartman said that this will be good for first-times patients as well as those returning to seek out PT options.
