Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)– The Marquette Township Board has placed a Township Local Roads Rehabilitation Millage question on the November 4th ballot for Marquette Township residents to consider.

Township Manager Randy Girard joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike recently to outline the proposal and what passage of the measure would mean for the township.

Girard explained the proposed millage would amount to a 1.5 mill tax levy, after expiration of the current .85 mill tax levy, for a period of fifteen years.

He added that if the millage is passed, all local roads in the Township are proposed to be repaired within the first three years of the millage period of 2015 to 2017.

Girard said that information and maps regarding the proposed millage are available at any time at the Township Offices and there will be regularly scheduled educational sessions leadin up to the election for the public to attend to learn more about the millage.
