Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Some changes are in the works at Northern Michigan University.

Derek Hall, Assistant Vice President of Identity, Brand and Marketing at NMU, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to talk about what is going on.

Hall explained that the university is making a change in the attitude and spirit of talking about NMU with an extensive makeover of the public marketing.

He said that NMU has put forth a major effort in rebranding the message of the university and it’s positive attributes.

Hall said the initiative was started recently at NMU and really came to being as part of new Northern President Fritz Erickson’s call to do away with the perceived “shy sense of excellence” about the university and it’s programs.

Hall echoed the sentiments of President Erickson by saying the reluctance to share and celebrate achievements has not served NMU well and he is working to effectively change that.
